Biography
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Mabrouk graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University, in 2004 with Excellent with Honours, then earned his MSc (2009) and MD (2017) in Internal Medicine there. He has taught in the Department of Internal Medicine since 2010 and is today Professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
As head of the GI Endoscopy Unit at Tanta University Hospitals he led the creation of the hospitals' largest endoscopy unit — 1,100 m² with eight rooms for complex cases — and introduced SpyGlass cholangioscopy for the earlier detection of biliary tumours. He also directs the Quality Assurance & Accreditation Unit.

Thesis: uses of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in gastrointestinal disorders.
Joined the teaching staff of the Internal Medicine Department, Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University.
Earned his MD from Tanta University and was appointed Lecturer of Internal Medicine.
